The Bug Guy Work

This was my final piece of the bug guy work i had done, what went exceptionally wel was the background and texturing inside the abdomen. What i did to begin with was use different shades of brown to help blend the texture in as well as the colour used from the texture ( The bright one) I took from colour palette and used it from the paint brush to help blend the texture in also. What i knew was important while designing it was also focusing on eye and mouth. So i then repeated that process with texturing the facial features because using the paint brush i was not sure where to begin with. Also what went well was bringing out which part of the abdomen was what, such as like the arms from the body and head also.

However what didn't go too well was trying to make it even more realistic without taking using too much texture. The painting didnt work out for me much on the body as i would of hoped as i couldnt get the right colours from the texture on the palette, so sometimes it would be too bright or too dark or just no way near the colour from the texture. The lines to differentiate which part of the body was what, was harder than assumed by most because i didnt want to over do the blending and dodge tool.

This was the initial image i used for creativity to help bring the right image for the piece. We was given images as resources for the work but i could not find it so i then began to search for similar ones. The interesting thing about using this image was the shine on the abdomen of the bug, helped my piece look more alike a real one. Without the texture behind the layers it would not have given the effect i was looking for. It really helped me accomplish what I was aiming to do.

This was the bug guy piece assigned to complete earlier on in the year. I didnt get to upload nor criticise what went wrong and what went well also. My journey began with deciding on what colour was best to use i decided first to begin with a dark brown clash with light brown and hint of black to darken the side of the bug. I kept using the images on Google to get inspiration for making it look realistic. The bug guy piece started off with just lines and i began gradually starting off with finding the right contrast between the dark brown shades and light brown shades. But i did not want to get carried away so i made sure i looked again at what other colours were included. Once i realised what colours i was going to use i then began to think what best way would be to make it look more realistic so i began using the image above to incorporate into the piece to give it the right effect.
