This was my lizard dude piece, that I did. I unfortunately didnt get to save the begnning steps. However what i did to start of with was decide on the ground colours and what shades of that colour to include. Because i was not looking to make a colourful lizard looking monster, so then after when i decided what colour i was going to use i then wanted to move on to the arms and decide what colour would best suit. It was a fairly long process and was not exactly the quickest piece i have done. After getting the basic colours and first layer, I then wanted to add some of the burn tool and dodge tool.
The bits i came to war with was the colours not giving it that dark realistic look. What I did to begin with was give it a dark colour for support to make it easier to darken the parts on the piece that gave it the effect i was looking for. it roughly took me few hours to get past the errors i came across. Overall the piece was 3/4 hours. I then had to go over the lines for the arms and around the lizard silhouette.
